Pride Month Controversy over Rainbow-Lit Bridge in Florida

Rainbow lights on Florida bridge marking Pride Month turned back on after backlash

 

June 7:  The Acosta Bridge in Jacksonville, Florida was lit up to honor Pride Month and the LGBTQ community.

June 8:  After reportedly receiving complaints, authorities changed the colorful display to blue lights.

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority explains that the lights were changed when the Florida Department of Transportation infomed them that the rainbow lighting scheme was out of compliance with its current permit.
