Griven Acquired by Former Exec Luca Meinardi

Experience Brands spins off global dynamic lighting maker, stresses continuity in North America
Griven, the Italian manufacturer known for its dynamic architectural façade lighting, has officially changed hands. Luca Meinardi, a former executive at Experience Brands in Europe, has acquired the company through his new firm, Noiabr SRL, in a move that Experience Brands says will strengthen—not disrupt—its North American operations.
While the offering of Griven attracted over 100 initial inquiries, Experience Brands CEO Chris Stockton is candid about why Meinardi was the right fit. “I think it is a dream for every manager to at some point own the company. Today Luca Meinardi did just that,” Stockton told Inside Lighting. “I am extremely proud of Luca for this opportunity, and Griven will be stronger as a result of his leadership.”
Meinardi, who spent six years with Experience Brands in Europe, is seen as a steady hand with a deep understanding of the brand and its global footprint. His commitment to the U.S. market, where Griven has been gaining traction in outdoor and theatrical lighting applications, is expected to intensify.
Continuity Promised for the U.S. & Canada Markets
For North American specifiers and reps, the message from Experience Brands is “business as usual.” Letters sent to stakeholders today confirm that all current representation agreements remain in place. A separate distribution and support agreement between Experience Brands USA and Griven will ensure the same team continues to manage sales and service across the U.S. and Canada.
Stockton emphasized that agency performance will continue to be the determining factor in who carries the brand. “Don’t sleep on this line,” he wrote in a communication to agents. “It has a very bright future.”
Phone calls to many of the top Griven agent partners are being made directly by Stockton, further reinforcing that the transition is being tightly managed.
A Familiar Playbook
This isn’t Experience Brands’ first time orchestrating a strategic transfer of European operations while reinforcing its North American core. In late 2023, the company sold Hess GmbH in Germany to the Ragni Group, retaining HessAmerica and acquiring Ragni USA in the process. The Gaffney, South Carolina-based operation now oversees Ragni and Hess product lines for the region.
In that context, the Griven transaction looks less like an exit and more like a restructuring of Experience Brands’ international footprint — placing growth-oriented leadership closer to manufacturing while preserving sales and market continuity in North America.
As letters go out and calls are made, specifiers and agents across the U.S. may find little immediate change. But for those watching closely, the handover signals a larger trend: Experience Brands is trimming its European branches, but not loosening its grip on U.S. market share.
