Iraqi Minister and Cree Lighting execs discuss potential cooperation on Wednesday

 

Yesterday in Washington D.C. representatives from Cree Lighting met with Iraq Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, Dr. Mohammed Ali Tamim (pictured middle above), to discuss establishing an LED lighting factory in Iraq, the Republic of Iraq Ministry of Planning announced.

The talks centered on transferring modern technology and exploring investment opportunities in various development sectors. Cree Lighting reportedly expressed readiness to invest and collaborate on the project, highlighting the potential for establishing production lines in Iraq.

Rowan Lawson, Chief of Staff for Cree Lighting, confirmed his attendance at yesterday’s meeting and shared the following comment:

“Having been working in Iraq for more than 14 years, we had very positive meetings with Iraq’s leaders this week in Washington DC. At this time I can’t comment on specifics, but will provide information as this develops.”

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Planning discusses with the American company (Cree Lighting) the possibility of establishing an LED lighting factory in Iraq.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, Dr. Mohammed Ali Tamim, met with a delegation representing the American company Cree Lighting, specialized in LED lighting, at his residence in the US capital, Washington, on Wednesday evening. During the meeting, they discussed the prospects of mutual cooperation between both sides and the mentioned company in the field of transferring modern technology and establishing a factory in Iraq.

 The Minister pointed out that Iraq has many significant investment opportunities in various development sectors, including modern technology, affirming the government's intention to integrate this technology into work, service sectors, and project management.

Representatives of Cree Lighting confirmed the company's readiness to enter and invest, and to collaborate in transferring modern technology and the possibility of establishing production lines for LED lighting in Iraq.
