The sports lighting player reportedly ended North American sales August 31

GigaTera Lighting Inc. appears to have ceased sales operations in North America, according to multiple sources close to the matter and an email attributed to someone with knowledge of the situation.

The company's website no longer lists a California address, and calls to its main phone line in recent days have returned a "call cannot be completed" error. Inside Lighting reached out to GigaTera and its Korean parent company, KMW, twice in two days and received no response by publication.

Company communication shared with Inside Lighting and attributed to a source close to the matter states that GigaTera ceased North American sales operations as of August 31, following what the email describes as a health-related decision by the company's chairman. The email states that KMW itself remains unaffected. It adds that formal notices have gone out to manufacturers' agents regarding warranty and RMA claims, that a team will remain at GigaTera's Dallas office to process those claims, and that active U.S. installations will continue with project management support.

GigaTera built its U.S. presence largely around sports lighting, including work with Major League Baseball venues and a line of double-headed fixtures with multiple aiming points.

Inside Lighting will update this story if GigaTera or KMW responds.
