LEDucation 2025 Day 1: A Bright Start in New York
Over 7,500 lighting people gather to explore the latest in lighting
The lighting industry descended on New York City for LEDucation 2025, and by all accounts, Day 1 was a success. With over 7,500 in-person attendees on Tuesday (among 9,173 registered) making their way through the Hilton ballrooms, the event reaffirmed its evolution from a regional gathering into a national and international hub for lighting people.
While the focus remains on North America, the presence of attendees from Europe, South America, and even Asia highlights the show’s growing influence. Even so, familiar industry faces and a sense of homecoming remained at the heart of the event.
Logistics Hiccups, But a Smooth Show Opening
Not everything went off without a hitch. Setup day on Monday coincided with New York City’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, creating logistical headaches for some exhibitors trying to deliver booth crates to the New York Hilton Midtown. Some were left waiting for truck deliveries stuck on the wrong side of Fifth Avenue, leading to late-night setup efforts.
But by the time the doors opened on Tuesday, the booths were ready, the lighting displays were vibrant, and the energy was palpable.
Networking, Parties, and the Social Side of LEDucation
Beyond the exhibits, LEDucation has become known for its after-hours networking events — a place where business, creativity, and camaraderie mix. Day 1 saw Lumenwerx host a well-attended event, while Edison Price, 3G Lighting, iGuzzini, Axis Lighting and others brought their own brand of celebration. With gatherings scattered throughout the city, the night reinforced that LEDucation isn’t just about technology — it’s about connections and the people shaping the industry.

With momentum strong from Day 1, the industry looks ahead to more product unveilings, insightful seminars, and hands-on demonstrations. Expect deeper dives into emerging trends, from smart lighting controls to sustainability-focused solutions.
More updates to come as LEDucation 2025 continues.
