1. Here’s what the LightFair 2023 Exhibitor List currently looks like
LightFair 2023 is nine months and nine days away. North America’s largest lighting extravaganza recently activated the exhibitor floor plan for online viewing. Over 200 booths have already been reserved with more imminent signups in the pipeline. The event takes place May 21-25 in New York City overlapping with New York City's Design Week, the 10-day NYCxDESIGN Festival.

2. Key Lighting Executive Joins Lumenwerx
Longtime lighting industry executive, Sero Cardamone, will soon be joining the well-known Montreal-based architectural lighting brand, Lumenwerx, on August 15 as EVP of Sales and Marketing. Most recently, Cardamone served as President of Philadelphia-area lighting agent, Illuminations Inc. Prior to that, Cardamone spent 16 years at Acuity Brands – the last seven years as Senior Vice President of Global Sales.

3. FDA Issues Consumer Warning About Electric UV Light
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers about the potential risk of injury associated with the use of certain brands of ultraviolet (UV) wands.
FDA testing determined that some UV wand products give off at a distance of about two inches, as much as 3,000 times more UV-C radiation than the exposure limit recommended by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection.
4. Europe is Turning Off Lights Amidst Energy Crisis
Energy prices across Europe have skyrocketed following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and its response to Western sanctions. Countries are dimming lights, turning them off with rolling blackouts and Austria recently announced that some landmark holiday lighting displays will be taking this year off.
