L.A. Gets its Trade Show Back
Introducing LightSPEC West – a new event to serve West Coast lighting enthusiasts starting in 2022
In September 2020, Exponation, the live event company behind LightShow West, LED Specifier Summit and other trade shows succumbed to the pandemic and filed for bankruptcy. Los Angeles lost its beloved, popular and well-attended LightShow West trade show and conference.
In true Hollywood fashion, the comeback story is underway.
Endeavor Business Media, the company behind Strategies in Light and LEDs Magazine, has announced the creation of LightSPEC West – a trade show and educational conference that will serve the West Coast and likely draw interest from other regions.
The first LightSPEC West is scheduled for September 21-22, 2022 at The Reef, an event space in South Central Los Angeles near the city's Fashion District and Arts District. Danielle Gibbs, the former owner of LightShow West will be the Event Director for LightSPEC West.
LightShow West was a bi-annual event that often occurred months after East Coast Lightfair in odd-numbered years. We asked Gibbs if LightSPEC West was expected to be annual or bi-annual and that still remains to be determined.
