$300+ million projects get rolling in Virginia, Arizona, Texas and Ohio
Nonresidential construction planning showed strong momentum in June 2025, with the Dodge Momentum Index climbing 6.8% to reach 225.1, according to data from Dodge Construction Network. Commercial planning led the growth at 7.3%, driven by substantial activity in warehouse, data center, and recreational projects, while institutional planning contributed with a 5.7% increase bolstered by healthcare and large recreational developments.
The Dodge Momentum Index (DMI) tracks the dollar value of nonresidential building projects as they enter the planning phase, serving as a leading indicator that typically precedes actual construction spending by approximately one year.
