Risk of glass falling prompts urgent recall of 3300 LED mirrors sold in 2023 and 2024

Homewerks Worldwide has issued a recall of approximately 3,300 Allen + Roth-branded lighted bathroom mirrors sold exclusively at Lowe’s due to injury and laceration hazards. The recall, announced on Oct. 10, 2024, applies to frameless, dimmable LED wall mirrors, models 75-102, 75-103, and 75-104. The mirrors have been found to pose a risk of detaching from their wall attachment base, which may result in the glass falling and causing injuries.

Product Details and Affected Models

The recalled mirrors were sold between February 2023 and July 2024, with prices ranging from $250 to $610. The affected models were manufactured between December 2022 and August 2023. These mirrors feature a touch sensor for dimmable LED lighting and are equipped with an anti-fog feature.

They come in three different sizes:

  • Model 75-102 (Lowe’s item 784783): 24 inches x 30 inches
  • Model 75-103 (Lowe’s item 2845089 and 1124616): 30 inches x 36 inches
  • Model 75-104 (Lowe’s item 5746472 and 1124617): 36 inches x 42 inches

The model number and manufacturing date can be found on labels located on the back of the mirrors, and the Lowe's item numbers appear in the instruction manuals and on purchase receipts.

Risk and Consumer Action

The recall was initiated after Lowe’s received 44 reports of the mirror glass detaching from its base. No injuries have been reported so far. However, the potential for falling glass creates a risk of injury and laceration. Homewerks Worldwide is offering consumers a full refund or free replacement, including shipping, to mitigate any risks associated with these products.

Consumers who own one of the recalled mirrors are urged to stop using the product immediately, turn off its power, and contact Homewerks Worldwide for instructions on removal and disposal. Homewerks is also contacting all known purchasers directly to ensure proper handling of the recall.

For more details, consumers can reach Homewerks Worldwide toll-free at 866-582-2069, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT, or via email at MirrorRecall@Homewerks.com. Additional information can be found on their website at www.Homewerks.com/MirrorRecall or by visiting the recall section of the Homewerks homepage.

The mirrors were manufactured in China and imported by Homewerks Worldwide, based in Lake Bluff, Illinois.

Consumers are advised to act swiftly to avoid potential injuries, and no incidents of harm have been reported thus far.
