No longer a turnkey fixture and controls business, SiteWorx eyes recurring SaaS revenue with new U.S. ownership in place

A group of veteran employees from the previous iteration of Digital Lumens has taken the helm at SiteWorx Software USA. This move follows SiteWorx Software’s recent restructuring and ownership changes by Guy Peckham’s investment group.

Earlier this year, our coverage highlighted the quiet sale of Boston-based Digital Lumens to Singaporean firm Siteworx Software, PTE Ltd. Assets of Digital Lumens were acquired after it was under the umbrella of private equity firm, Skyview Capital. Skyview had obtained Digital Lumens along with Encelium from ams Osram in September 2021.

The significant shift to the Singapore-based Siteworx Software saw a keen focus on software, discontinuing hardware production. Digital Lumens, by that time, had been amassing steady Software as a service (SaaS) revenue from an estimated 300-400 clientele base.

New ownership details emerge:

Ownership dynamics have seen another shift. While specifics remain confidential, it's known that a segment of US employees now holds over 50% interest in SiteWorx Software USA. These ten employees are all from the original Digital Lumens team. Rob Winchester and Connor Rouan are taking on the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively. Moreover, the Singapore entity, Siteworx Software, PTE Ltd, does not have any ownership of the US company. The remaining shares lie with investors from the US and Canada.

Software + a different type of hardware

While the company’s brand name has evolved, its publicly stated objectives remain steady. The company is amplifying its commitment to the SiteWorx lighting controls platform, the very software platform that has been a part of the brand for years. Unlike the former Digital Lumens, manufacturing fixtures is now off the table. However, SiteWorx continues to produce SCN (SiteWorx Core Node) sensors. These sensors, integrating with third-party fixtures, enable them to be compatible with SiteWorx. Not just that, but the company will also be producing network hardware and WIO, promoting the integration of non-lighting sensors with the platform.

The transition sees SiteWorx Software USA merging its past legacy with a focus on expanding its platform and supporting a diverse range of Zigbee 3.0 sensor products for end-users.
