McFadden Lighting to Close its Doors
Company cites rising costs and component lead times as main challenges
Saint Louis-based McFadden Lighting has announced that it will be closing its business effective March 31, 2022.
McFadden might be best known for manufacturing lighting fixtures for houses of worship but has also provided standard and custom fixtures for other markets including historical buildings, government projects and other commercial applications. The company reports that it was founded in 1940. In 2020 McFadden reported having 11 employees.
In a written statement that was emailed to business partners and customers on Thursday, CEO Jay Sturgeon explained that the closure "has been necessitated by the continued rising cost of materials and increasing lead times that has made delivering products on schedule and within cost expectations virtually impossible."
