More Lighting Market Changes in South Carolina

Ardd + Winter expands into territory with a merger and bolsters partnership with Cooper Lighting

Ardd + Winter, the long-time Atlanta-area lighting agent is expanding into the neighboring territory of South Carolina. The company has announced that it is merging with South Carolina lighting agent, Palmetto Lighting Solutions (PLS), and will soon become the Cooper Lighting Solutions agent for the state of South Carolina.

Cooper Lighting is currently represented by Premier Lighting & Control in South Carolina, an agency that currently cites 11 employees and 48 non-Cooper lines on its website . The Cooper Lighting transition to Ardd + Winter will be effective March 1. Palmetto Lighting is in the process of transitioning away from its representation of Genlyte Solutions.

The new, combined agency will operate under the name Ardd + Winter, Inc. in South Carolina. According to an Ardd + Winter statement “The combination of PLS’s existing relationships, specifications, distributor and contractor presence, along with our manufacturer partners and staff, will provide customers and clients the service and representation that they have come to expect with Ardd + Winter...”

Ardd + Winter has served the Atlanta market for 54 years. The agency moved into Northern Florida markets soon after starting its representation of Cooper Lighting approximately 10 years ago. The agency's expansion into South Carolina creates a market coverage of four distinct lighting markets: Atlanta, Savannah, Jacksonville-Daytona and South Carolina.
