Current Celebrates New Headquarters in South Carolina

Company alignment and branding continue to gel months after Hubbell Lighting acquisition

As Hubbell Lighting was growing and expanding in 2006 – a few years after the acquisition of numerous LCA brands including Kim Lighting, Columbia and Prescolite – the company consolidated a good portion of its operations into a brand new corporate headquarters building on Millennium Boulevard in Greenville, South Carolina. That building served as the headquarters of Hubbell Lighting for over 15 years – and now it has become the official headquarters of Hubbell Lighting’s “newish” owner, Current.

Earlier this year, Current, which spun off GE years ago, relocated its corporate offices from historic Nela Park, Ohio to nearby Beachwood, Ohio. The teams and operations will remain in Beachwood, but the official company headquarters is now Greenville.

On Wednesday, Current held an event to commemorate its increased commitment to Upstate South Carolina. Current billed the festivities as "a celebration of the community we now call home and the headquarters we’re excited to show off." The event included an official sign raising, Lighting Institute tour, an appearance by Greenville Mayor Knox White and a presentation from Current CEO and President Manish Bhandari on Current's new presence in Greenville.
