Layoffs at Signify & Cooper Lighting
Reduction in force impacts approximately 2% of U.S. employees
On Tuesday, Cooper Lighting Solutions and other Signify businesses implemented a layoff that is impacting approximately 2% of Signify employees in the United States. Those affected were primarily office workers and remote, work-from-home employees. Signify employs an estimated 3,000 workers in the U.S., thus the impact is approximately 60 individuals.
At the end of 2021, Netherlands-based Signify reported having 36,824 global employees.
We reached out to a Signify spokesperson who provided the 2% number above and also stated, “Signify regularly evaluates our business operations in line with the ongoing transformation of the lighting industry. The decision to right-size the US organization was made after careful consideration of all options. A reduction in workforce is always difficult. We are committed to supporting impacted employees and providing the resources to assist them through this transition.”
