LightFair Sweetens The Deal

With 55 days remaining until LightFair 2021, the trade show makes changes designed to remove obstacles for some exhibitors and attendees

Exhibit Hall Passes are now Free for All
LightFair is waiving the attendee fee for Exhibit Hall Only registrations. The most recent rates have been $99 and $79 for the early bird rate. Attendees often receive free exhibit hall passes from exhibiting manufacturers, but there are a portion of attendees who do pay the cover charge. So waiving that fee may help remove an obstacle for some attendees.

Lightfair is Making Exhibitor Booth Terms More Flexible.
This is significant. An exhibitor’s decision to stay in the show or pull out is often multifaceted. One major policy is changing as of today.

We caught up with LightFair Show Director, Dan Darby, on Monday who shared many insights with us, including feedback that exhibitors’ anticipated marketing needs have evolved since signing up for LightFair booth space last year. Despite numerous Covid-friendly terms being built into Exhibitor contracts, the longstanding policies to not credit downsizing Exhibitors was not providing stakeholders with the flexibility they are now seeking.

RECENT POLICY: Exhibitors who downsize the size of their booth or pull out of the show altogether would not receive a monetary refund or credit for the unused booth space.

UPDATED POLICY: Exhibitors who downsize the size of their booth WILL receive a monetary rollover credit for the unused booth space.

  • The monetary credit can be applied to booth space at LightFair 2022 in Las Vegas only.
  • This is also significant because even downsizing to a 10x10 booth, would keep the Exhibitor’s loyalty streak alive, which provides the opportunity to bid on a more attractive booth location in the future.
  • This policy is being made available to Exhibitors who registered for LightFair 2021 and have already pulled out.

The Updated Policy Could Draw Some Exhibitors Back into the Fold.  Example:

  • A manufacturer who signed up for a 20x30 booth and pulled out, forfeited their $31,200 investment.
  • Coming back into this year’s show with a modest 10x10 booth would allow them to have a scaled back exhibit and then apply the remaining $26,000 rollover balance to LightFair 2022 in Las Vegas.

This move could possibly increase the Exhibitor count for LightFair 2021 (or slow the seemingly steady decline of the count which now stands at 262), while possibly easing the path for numerous LightFair 2022 Exhibitors.

Exhibitors will Receive Pre-Show Attendee Insights
Finally, in an effort to help Exhibitors prepare for the show and set expectations, LightFair will be regularly sharing a redacted list of attendees (no names) citing company name and location.
