Light + Intelligent Building North America is the new biennial lighting and building-technology event produced by Messe Frankfurt, the IALD, and the IES. The show replaces the long-running LightFair event that previously occupied these dates in odd-numbered years, but Light + Intelligent Building North America is positioned as a new launch with a broader scope — not a rebrand. With the shift to a biennial format, there is no event in 2026 or 2028.

Debuting in 2027, Light + Intelligent Building North America expands beyond architectural lighting to reflect the accelerating convergence of lighting, controls, building systems, IoT platforms, and smart-building technologies. The exposition will be organized into three primary zones — Lighting, Building Technology, and Accessories — mirroring Messe Frankfurt’s global Light + Building structure.

Conference programming will address design, controls, codes, interoperability, wellness, cybersecurity, digital workflows, and other emerging topics shaping modern building environments.

Light + Intelligent Building North America will take place in the Las Vegas Convention Center on the same dates once earmarked for LightFair 2027, providing a refreshed platform for exhibitors, specifiers, distributors, integrators, and other professionals across the lighting and building-technology sectors.
