Illumus Moves to Combine Barn Light Operations

Standalone factory to close; 84 positions affected in post-acquisition consolidation
Illumus, the privately held Florida lighting group behind ILP, Green Creative, and Barn Light Electric, has filed notice with the State of Florida that it will close Barn Light’s Titusville facility and consolidate operations into its Sanford campus. The filing indicates 84 employees will be affected, with most separations scheduled between April 15 and April 30 .
Barn Light’s manufacturing base in Titusville sits roughly 50 miles from Illumus’ 180,000-square-foot campus in Sanford, just outside of Orlando. With the brands operating along the same Central Florida corridor, the company ultimately chose to bring production under one roof. In strategic acquisitions, especially when facilities are separated by less than 100 miles of interstate, consolidation is a common operational step.
Impact and Scale
Illumus acquired Barn Light Electric in October 2025, adding a design-focused manufacturer to a portfolio already anchored in ILP’s commercial and industrial luminaires and Green Creative’s LED lamp and fixture lines. An Illumus spokesperson said the decision to consolidate Barn Light into Sanford is part of a broader strategy to support long-term growth and scalability.
According to the spokesperson, 51 continued-employment offers have been extended across remote, hybrid, and Sanford-based roles, with approximately half accepted so far. The company says impacted employees are being provided information about internal opportunities and transition support as integration moves forward.
Executive Framing & Strategy
Chief Executive Officer Neil Yeargin addressed the move in a prepared statement, saying, “This consolidation reflects our commitment to building a stronger, more scalable platform for the future of Barn Light and ILLUMUS.” He added that when Illumus acquired Barn Light, the intention was to significantly grow the brand over time, and that expanded facilities and infrastructure in Sanford are intended to support increased capacity and continued investment.
Yeargin also said customers should expect no interruption to service, production continuity, or order fulfillment during the transition. Illumus has emphasized that the consolidation aligns with its long-term manufacturing strategy and does not signal financial distress.
The state filing outlines a range of affected roles across manufacturing, engineering, and administrative functions . For the individuals involved, the change is significant and personal, even as it fits within a broader corporate integration plan.
