DALS Expands Spec Reach With Lumenture Acquisition

Acquisition strengthens offerings for architectural and commercial lighting projects
In the span of 10 months, DALS Lighting Group has quietly redrawn its boundaries.
DALS announced it acquired Connecticut based Lumenture, a manufacturer known for track and recessed lighting used in commercial and retail environments . The transaction follows DALS’s April 2025 purchase of Remington Lighting, a long established hospitality supplier . Together, the moves widen DALS’s reach across more corners of the specification market.
DALS, founded in 2009, built its business around LED driven residential and light commercial products. Its catalog spans smart home systems, recessed and under cabinet fixtures, landscape lighting, and a broad mix of indoor and outdoor luminaires. The company goes to market through commercial lighting agents across the United States and Canada, supplying showrooms, distributors, and project based work.
Lumenture occupies a different, though adjacent, lane. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Connecticut, it focuses on specification grade cylinders, track heads, track wall washers, recessed wall washers, recessed multiples, hallway fixtures, and downlights such as the DL60 . Its customers tend to include lighting designers and architects working on retail, hospitality, and commercial interiors where beam control and fixture discretion matter as much as price.
Both companies rely on commercial lighting agents in the U.S. and Canada.
Under the terms announced, Lumenture will continue operating under its current brand and leadership, including President James Leahy . That structure mirrors the Remington deal last year, where operations also continued under existing leadership . The pattern suggests DALS is assembling a portfolio rather than folding companies into a single identity.
"We admire what the Lumenture team has built. Their passion for well-designed, technically advanced lighting fits perfectly with our vision. We are excited to partner with James and his team and bring our energy, resources, and experience to support Lumenture’s next chapter."
— Joey Khatri, CEO of DALS Lighting Group
The through line is product adjacency. Remington brought custom hospitality programs. Lumenture brings specification grade track and recessed systems more commonly associated with architectural lighting circles. For DALS, which has been strongest in design forward residential and light commercial categories, the addition narrows a gap between decorative leaning applications and architect led projects.
This is not a dramatic pivot. It is a methodical expansion. In a market where agents increasingly represent overlapping lines and specifiers expect breadth from trusted manufacturers, DALS appears to be positioning itself to show up in more conversations, from smart home kitchens to retail ceilings.
