Elemental LED Acquires Gammalux Lighting Systems
Now alongside Diode LED and Lucetta, Gammalux extends West Coast brand presence
Elemental LED has acquired Gammalux Lighting Systems, marking a significant expansion of the company’s architectural lighting capabilities. This acquisition brings a respected manufacturer of direct and indirect linear fixtures into the Elemental LED portfolio, adding a third distinct West Coast brand alongside Diode LED and Lucetta. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With roots stretching back to 1987, Gammalux carved out its reputation decades ago as direct and direct/indirect linear fluorescent systems became a mainstay in architectural lighting, particularly with the wide adoption of T5 lamps that allowed for sleeker, more compact luminaires. Now, in an era where LED dominates, the company’s focus on high-performance, specification-grade solid state lighting makes it a strategic addition to Elemental LED’s growing lineup.
Gammalux Ownership Transition
Gammalux, long a family-run operation, was owned by the Incikaya family for two generations. Under the deal, Gammalux President and CEO, Phil Incikaya, exits ownership, and Gammalux becomes a brand under the Elemental LED umbrella. The acquisition strengthens Elemental LED’s position in specification-grade lighting and broadens its ability to compete on fixture schedules for large-scale architectural lighting projects.
“I am overjoyed at the prospect of bringing Gammalux into the Elemental LED family,” said Incikaya. “The entire team is excited about the new capabilities and prospects ahead.”
For Elemental LED, the move is both strategic and geographic. “Gammalux is a special, one-of-a-kind company,” said Randy Holleschau, President and CEO of Elemental LED. “This opportunity will allow Elemental LED to expand its substantial presence in the specification and commercial lighting market.”
Merrimack Group, an M&A specialist serving the lighting industry, introduced the parties but did not advise on the transaction.
Strategic Acquisition
Elemental LED, headquartered in Reno, Nevada, has been aggressively growing its presence in architectural and commercial lighting. Adding Gammalux expands the company’s footprint in linear lighting solutions, a space that remains critical for architects and designers specifying lighting for modern commercial and institutional projects.
The acquisition will preserve Gammalux’s manufacturing operations in San Dimas, California, 25 miles east of Los Angeles, ensuring continuity in production and workforce stability. Elemental LED plans to expand the facilities to accommodate projected growth. The brand’s products will continue to be manufactured in the U.S., a factor that remains essential for many specification-driven projects.
By integrating Gammalux’s product line with its existing offerings, Elemental LED strengthens its position in the high-end lighting market — where reliability, aesthetics, and performance drive specification decisions.
With this acquisition, Elemental LED moves deeper into the architectural lighting landscape, ensuring that its presence on specifications is not just growing but becoming more entrenched in the market.
