inside.lighting Turns Five, Sort of

Does the lighting industry really need another information website?  We weren't sure initially, but the support has been "amazing"

Five years ago this week, inside.lighting was launched as an anonymous side project.  For three months before launch, the home page showed a schlocky homemade logo created in Power Point with the promise that "We are building something amazing."  Describing the website as “amazing” in 2016, was admittedly hyperbolic, but the journey to bring inside.lighting to you has been incredibly rich and rewarding.

Our initial vision was to create two things:  a Local Lighting Markets database and an LED-only Product Database. The Local Markets section really captured the interest of the industry, but our half-baked attempt at a 76-category LED Product Directory never really caught on.

After pausing the website for most of 2018 & 2019, we went full-throttle in early 2020, and – thanks to your incredible support – inside.lighting has become a leading source of info & insights that helps lighting people do their jobs better.

The “amazing” people that fuel inside.lighting:

emoji-light bulb.png We are grateful for all of the constructive feedback, help and support that the “amazing” lighting community has shared with us.

emoji-light bulb.png  We appreciate the partnership with all of our “amazing” sponsors – especially those who hopped on board early with us – believing in our potential.

When a couple thousand lighting people choose to spend part of their workday with us, we don’t take that lightly.  We appreciate you immensely.  Thank you.

We feel like we’ve just started, and we have some cool things planned for 2022 and beyond.  Thank you for being an “amazing” part of our journey.  Here’s to a bright future for each of us and for the entire lighting community. emoji-praying hands.png emoji - clinking-beer-mugs.png
