Utopia Lighting Launches Instant Ship: Stocked Fixtures That Leave the Warehouse Within One Business Day

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA — Utopia Lighting has launched Instant Ship, a program of stocked, ready-to-ship fixtures that leave the company’s City of Industry, California warehouse within one business day of order confirmation. The program is designed for the situations where a custom lead time doesn’t work: an urgent replacement, a last-minute addition, or a project schedule with no room left in it.

Utopia built its reputation on customized, made-to-order lighting. Instant Ship adds a second track for the jobs that can’t wait, without changing the custom-manufacturing model the company is known for.

The Instant Ship line currently covers four product families: linear high bays, round high bays, shoebox area lights, and flat panels. Every fixture in the program is held in inventory and shipped from stock. Orders ship within one business day, though the company aims to ship them the same day.

“Speed is where we’re putting our emphasis right now,” said Sean Arani, CEO of Utopia Lighting. “We can build almost anything a project calls for, but a project with a crew on site tomorrow doesn’t need a lead time. Instant Ship means the fixtures are on a truck within a business day, usually the same day.”

The First Step of Many

Instant Ship follows Utopia’s commitment last fall to supply compatible alternatives for customers projects, and the January launch of its redesigned website with open access to spec sheets, photometric files, and installation guides. The common thread is reducing the time between a customer’s need and a fixture in hand.

“This is the first step in a longer effort to serve our customers faster,” Arani said. “We expect to add several more families to the Instant Ship line before the end of the year, and we’re working on the back end so that our reps can have visibility to all our inventory data too.”
