Live from Dallas on September 10, the free webinar will explore how thoughtful outdoor lighting can improve visibility and visual comfort while reducing glare, light trespass, and unnecessary light pollution.

VERNON, Calif. — Westgate Manufacturing will host “Dark Skies, Good Nights: Live from Dallas” on Thursday, September 10 at 10:00 AM CT, featuring Westgate lighting experts and industry professionals in a practical discussion on how better outdoor lighting can support safer, more comfortable, and more responsible nighttime environments.

The free live webinar will focus on a simple but increasingly important idea: effective outdoor lighting is not about putting more light everywhere. It is about putting the right light where it is needed.

Through real-world applications and outdoor lighting solutions, Westgate will explore how fixture selection, optical control, color temperature, placement, and directed illumination can help reduce glare, minimize light trespass, preserve darker skies, and still deliver the visibility required for commercial, municipal, residential, and architectural environments.

The session will be broadcast live from Dallas and will include a live Q&A for attendees.

“Good outdoor lighting should help people see better without making the entire night brighter,” said Isaac Hadjyan, Co-CEO of Westgate Manufacturing. “The conversation around dark skies is not about choosing between performance and responsible lighting. It is about designing more intentionally. With the right optics, distributions, color temperatures, controls, and fixture placement, we can create outdoor spaces that perform exceptionally well while putting light exactly where it belongs.”

From More Light to Better Light

Outdoor lighting is no longer judged only by output, coverage, and efficiency. Greater attention is now being placed on glare, light trespass, uplight, and unnecessary sky glow.

“Dark Skies, Good Nights” will explore how directed illumination, thoughtful fixture selection, shielding, color temperature, controls, and proper light levels can improve nighttime environments without compromising performance.

Practical Guidance for Real-World Projects

Designed for contractors, distributors, lighting agents, architects, engineers, designers, specifiers, and facility professionals, the webinar will offer practical strategies for applying dark-sky principles to everyday outdoor lighting projects.

Attendees will learn how to reduce unwanted spill light, control glare, select appropriate distributions, and direct light where it is actually needed.

Supporting More Responsible Outdoor Lighting

Westgate continues to support lighting professionals with products, photometric resources, lighting design assistance, and application guidance for commercial, architectural, municipal, and residential projects.

Through initiatives such as “Dark Skies, Good Nights,” Westgate aims to help the industry achieve better nighttime performance through more intentional lighting design.
