Introducing Exteria: A New Brand from MIT Group, the Team Behind Meteor Lighting

Ontario, CA — The MIT Group (Meteor Illumination Technologies), the parent company behind Meteor Lighting, announces the formation of Exteria — a new company committed to outdoor architectural lighting solutions.

Building on the success of Meteor Lighting’s high ceiling, color-changing, and tunable white indoor solutions, Exteria steps into the spotlight as MIT Group’s bold new venture, dedicated to elevating exterior environments through façade, streetscape, and transportation lighting.

"The idea for Exteria came about organically.  As Meteor Lighting continued to serve the theatrical, color-changing, and AV markets, we saw increasing demand for exterior solutions that meet the same standards of performance that define Meteor. Over time, our team found itself taking on more outdoor-focused challenges — and it became clear that this growing area of work deserved its own identity, focus, and future."

— Hanson Chen, Sales Director at the MIT Group

HueCraft™: The First Step in the Exteria Journey

At launch, Exteria introduces the HueCraft Projector and HueCraft Linear — A family of outdoor color-changing luminaires powered by the proprietary Archi-Color® RGBL engine. Designed for the rigors of exterior architectural environments, HueCraft delivers bold visual output and offers a wide range of optical options, including a narrow 6° beam angle to support precise façade and structural lighting.

With an IP67 rating, durable construction, and ANSI C136.31 3G vibration testing, HueCraft is engineered to perform reliably in harsh outdoor conditions, maintaining consistent output and structural integrity across a wide range of environmental challenges.

HueCraft’s RGB + Lime quad-chip configuration delivers a wider and more refined color spectrum than traditional RGBW systems. By filling the gap between green and amber, Lime enhances saturation, improves warm tone accuracy, and produces cleaner, more natural whites — avoiding the overly cool or muddy hues common in other color engines. The result: sodium-inspired ambers, natural reds, and golden tones rendered with exceptional vibrancy.

But HueCraft is just the beginning. Exteria’s product roadmap includes solar-powered bollards, concrete luminaires, and integrated EV charging solutions — products that fuse architectural form with environmental functionality to shape the next generation of outdoor lighting.
