QTL Releases Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for VERS and Q-CAP Lighting Lines, Reinforcing Commitment to Transparency and Sustainability
Milford, CT – QTL, a leading manufacturer of architectural LED lighting and power solutions, is proud to announce the release of third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its VERS and Q-CAP families. This milestone reinforces QTL’s ongoing commitment to environmental transparency and product sustainability in the lighting industry.
EPDs are independently verified documents that provide detailed insights into a product’s environmental impact throughout its lifecycle – from raw material extraction to manufacturing, use, and disposal. With this release, QTL becomes one of the few LED lighting manufacturers to provide third-party verified EPDs.
“This announcement isn’t just about compliance or documentation – it’s about accountability,” said Gean Tremaine, CEO of QTL. “We’ve always believed in building a better future through better practices. By publishing EPDs for VERS and Q-CAP, we’re giving architects, lighting designers, and specifiers the data they need to make informed, responsible decisions. Transparency like this empowers everyone to design with purpose and integrity.”
The EPDs for VERS, QTL’s family of rigid linear LED fixtures, and Q-CAP, its flexible encapsulated LED series, offer verified lifecycle data – including carbon footprint metrics, raw material sourcing, and energy consumption. These EPDs were developed using internationally recognized standards, ensuring they are both credible and globally comparable.
“This is more than just a checkmark on a sustainability checklist – it’s a defining moment in our long-term vision,” added Kate Sterling, Vice President of Marketing and head of QTL’s cross-departmental sustainability committee. “We’ve always designed products that balance performance, aesthetics, and energy efficiency. Now, we’re pairing that innovation with clear, third-party verified proof of our environmental impact.”
Beyond its newly released EPDs, QTL continues to take a holistic approach to sustainability. The company actively works to reduce energy usage in manufacturing, offers products with Declare labels for ingredient transparency, and meets rigorous standards such as RoHS, Title 24, and JA8 compliance. QTL’s involvement with the GreenLight Alliance and participation in the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Incubator further demonstrates its leadership in developing sustainable industry practices.
As the lighting industry evolves, QTL is proud to lead the way toward more sustainable, transparent product development. By combining innovation with environmental responsibility, QTL remains focused on its mission to create lighting solutions that don’t just illuminate spaces – but brighten our collective future.
