In the Spirit of Giving Tuesday, Consider Donating to Acuity Brands William J. Astary “Bright Future” Scholarship

The Acuity Brands William J. Astary “Bright Future” Scholarship is a meaningful way for those in the lighting industry to participate in Giving Tuesday by making a donation. The scholarship is a tribute to the contributions of William "Bill" Jacob Astary to the lighting industry. Kicking off in the Spring of 2025, the $2,500 scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving student, in addition to the regular awards given by the Besal Lighting Education Fund. Your Giving Tuesday donation helps honor Bill’s lifelong dedication to education and ensures his enduring impact on the lighting industry continues.

In memory of Bill Astary, Acuity Brands launched a donation campaign via GiveButter to support the Besal Lighting Education Fund and the McClung Lighting Research Foundation. To date, the scholarship has already raised over $16,000, reflecting the industry's strong commitment to supporting education and honoring Bill’s legacy. Sixty percent of the donations will go to the Besal Fund, and forty percent to the McClung Foundation, continuing Bill’s mission to advance education and research in the lighting industry. This Giving Tuesday, join Acuity Brands in honoring the legacy of William J. Astary and advancing the future of the lighting industry.
