Call for Entries: 2025 Lumen Awards Recognizing Excellence in Lighting Design
New York, NY — The New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IESNYC) proudly announces the call for entries for the 2025 Lumen Awards. The Lumen Awards recognize excellence, professionalism, ingenuity, and originality in architectural lighting design. Designers are invited to submit their most outstanding projects for consideration.
Eligible projects must be interior or exterior architectural lighting designs completed within two years of the submission deadline, January 10, 2025. Projects can either be designed by New York City-based designers for locations anywhere in the world or be located within New York City, regardless of where the designer is based.
This prestigious awards program offers lighting designers an opportunity to showcase their creativity, technical expertise, and passion for the craft. All eligible designers are encouraged to submit their most inspiring work and aim to join the ranks of previous Lumen Award winners, who have set a high standard for lighting design.

2025 Lumen Awards Categories:
- Lumen Award of Excellence – Recognizes the highest level of achievement for a permanent architectural lighting application.
- Lumen Award of Merit – Acknowledges meritorious achievement in permanent architectural lighting applications.
- Lumen Citation – Offers special recognition for a temporary or permanent lighting installation, technical detail, portion of a project, or other exceptional lighting work.

Award winners will be announced at the IESNYC Lumen Awards Gala, scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers, in New York City.
