Visual Comfort & Co. Introduces New Architectural Product Lead

Industry expert Basar Erdener will propel a new chapter in Visual Comfort & Co brand transformation.

Skokie, IL – Visual Comfort & Co. is pleased to announce the appointment of Basar Erdener as the new Director of Product Management for its Architectural Collection, formerly known as Tech Lighting.

“Basar brings a wealth of experience and a rich background in product management, innovation, and design that will be invaluable to our organization. His educational background combined with his professional journey have been uniquely focused in lighting which positions him extremely well to lead our architectural product initiatives.” said Sean Lavin, Chief Design Officer.

Basar holds a Master of Science, Lighting Research Center from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master of Architecture in Lighting Design from the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden and a Bachelor of Industrial Design from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. His professional experience spans integrating unique technical solutions at Fagerhult Group, transforming the design process at Zumtobel Group and pioneering WAC Lighting’s entry into landscape lighting.

A holder of multiple US Patents in LED lighting methods and apparatus, Basar's creativity, and dedication to sustainability in product development have earned him industry recognition to be one of the recipients of “40 under 40: Leaders in Lighting” award. His qualifications as Lighting Specialist and Lighting Certified (LC) Professional further underscore his commitment to excellence in our industry.

He will be present with the Visual Comfort & Co. team exhibiting at LEDucation 2024. “I am beyond excited to be a part of Visual Comfort & Co. and to be working with some of industry’s best talent to co-create a bright future for our Architectural Collection.” said Mr. Erdener.
