MILFORD, CONNECTICUT  –   Q-Tran, a leading innovator in the architectural lighting industry, proudly announces the successful completion of its first acquisition, Excelsior Lighting Inc. Based in Fresno, California, Excelsior Lighting is a specification-grade landscape and architectural exterior lighting manufacturer. A trusted lighting staple for renowned landscape lighting designers, Excelsior has been recognized for their exceptional quality and attention to detail.

Founded and led by Jerry Carter, Excelsior Lighting brings over two decades of expertise in manufacturing landscape lighting products.

Gean Tremaine, CEO of Q-Tran, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "Excelsior Lighting's reputation for excellence and innovation aligns seamlessly with our values. When we started talking to Jerry, I was blown away by how closely his company’s values aligned with ours. Quality, partnership, innovation, and integrity are part of everything they do. The fixtures have a 10-year warranty, making them sustainable. They share our philosophy of offering superior durability and performance.”

Excelsior products complement Q-Tran’s award-winning Q-Scape system which includes the Q-VAULT enclosure, Q-SET power supply family, Q-WIRE and Q-CLICK accessories, and IP67 encapsulated fixtures.

John Tremaine, founder of Q-Tran, explained, “We’ve been selling the Q-Scape system for over 15 years. Q-Scape won innovation awards in 2008 and remains the gold standard landscape power supply system in the market. The Q-VAULT and Q-SET products have performed after going through hurricanes and wildfires, which is a testament to their quality. Our IP67 rigid encapsulated fixtures and flexible Q-CAP encapsulated fixtures have been used in countless amazing exterior projects. Now we’ll have a full assortment of point source lighting to complete the offering.”

Initially, Excelsior will continue to operate independently without any disruption in providing products or services to customers. In the near future, Q-Tran will start to offer the Excelsior product through their existing rep network and will incorporate the product into the Q-Tran website and cut sheets. The company’s long-term strategy is to continuously innovate their exterior and landscape lighting products through product features and additions.

Additionally, in order to support Q-Tran customers with specifying Excelsior products, Lezlie “Z” Johannessen has joined Q-Tran in the role of Landscape National Sales Manager.

“After 30 years in different roles within premier lighting companies, I’m ecstatic to be returning to my ‘happy place’ in the magical world of landscape lighting,” Z shares.

Z holds a BFA in Design and Architecture from the University of Art in San Francisco and started her lighting career working with industry icon Jan Moyer, gaining extensive hands-on knowledge of the world of landscape lighting and illustrating The Landscape Lighting Book. Since then, she’s held positions in both the specification and manufacturing sides of lighting, giving her a complete understanding of the needs of the market. Z has also been actively involved in the International Landscape Lighting Institute as Student/Mentor and Presenter. In her new role, she’s excited to be a part of taking the high-quality Excelsior product to the next level by educating and supporting agents, forging relationships with key specifiers, and contributing to product innovations.
