New York – Since 1968, the Illuminating Engineering Society of New York City (IESNYC) has been at the forefront of recognizing excellence in lighting design. The prestigious IESNYC Lumen Awards program celebrates the visionaries, the innovators, and the creators who have illuminated the world with their exceptional lighting designs. We are thrilled to announce the Call for Entries for the 2024 IESNYC Lumen Awards, inviting talented lighting designers to submit their most outstanding projects.

The IESNYC Lumen Awards recognize exceptional professionalism, ingenuity, and originality in lighting design, showcasing some of the most innovative lighting projects worldwide. We encourage all passionate lighting designers to join the ranks of this esteemed group by submitting your most inspiring and innovative lighting designs.

Awards Categories:

• Lumen Award of Excellence: The highest level of achievement for a permanent architectural application.

• Lumen Award of Merit: Meritorious achievement for a permanent architectural application.

• Lumen Citation: Special recognition for a permanent or temporary lighting installation, technical detail, portion of a single project, or other work.

2024 IESNYC Lumen Awards Project Eligibility:

The Lumen Awards are open to any interior or exterior architectural lighting design project completed within two years of the submission deadline, which is January 12, 2024. Projects may be resubmitted during the years they remain eligible.

We welcome submissions from anyone, but we kindly request that the lighting designer responsible for the project be credited. Eligible projects must either be designed by a New York City*-based designer(s) for a project located anywhere in the world, or the project must be located in New York City* regardless of the designer(s) location.

*New York City includes the five boroughs of NYC and the counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster, and Westchester.
