Fulham Launches Four New LED Driver Families

Industry Mainstay Bucks Microchip Shortages to Fill Industry Gaps

(May 11, 2023 – Hawthorne, CA) – Fulham, a leading supplier of versatile, multi-purpose lighting components and electronics, has announced the launch of four newly-improved LED driver families: WorkHorse™, ThoroLED™, PONY™, and SugarCube™. The robust new drivers within these product lines meet an urgent industry need for energy-efficient and eco-friendly lighting solutions.

What’s more, these drivers are being released despite ongoing global microchip shortages that have otherwise significantly impacted the industry, causing disruptions in the supply chain and delays in product launches or availability. However, Fulham has successfully managed to overcome these challenges by working closely with its supply chain partners and implementing innovative strategies to manage demand.

"Our ability to navigate the microchip shortage and still bring this product to market is a testament to the resilience and agility of our team and our partners," said Antony Corrie, CEO of Fulham. "We are proud to offer these new LED driver families as solutions that not only meet the needs of our customers but also reflect our commitment to sustainability and innovation."

Fulham's ThoroLED (THCC) line features high-performance, high-efficiency LED drivers that boast an impressive output voltage range across 30W, 50W, and 85W driver options, spanning from 10-55VDC. ThoroLED's long thin form factor and UL Class P rating accommodate architectural and commercial fixture applications. With a programmable output, 12V auxiliary, and 0-10V dim to 1% and then off, it meets and exceeds the needs of many manufacturers in need of a solution right now.

The WorkHorse (WHCC) Constant Current line is designed for high output and outdoor applications, with compatibility across a wide range of LED luminaires and multiple mounting options. Fulham offers high output current in 75W and 100W now, and high output voltage options are coming soon in even higher wattages. Other features include robust surge protection of 6kv differential and 10kv common, IP66, UL Class P, 0-10V dimming, and programmable output current.

The PONY (PYCC) line is a cost-effective solution for lower wattage applications, featuring reliable and efficient LED drivers that deliver quality performance at an affordable price point. The line is current-selectable via a dipswitch, with other optional features including CCT-selectability. With IP20, UL Class P for easy drop-in today, and an extremely competitive price—these cover an enormous current range of 300mA to 1.3A across a line of 7 drivers ranging from 20W to 60W. Being switchable, these products are in high demand with the market shortages to offer maximum flexibility and versatility to all lighting companies, irrespective of application.

Finally, the SugarCube (SCCC) line is a compact and versatile LED driver that can be used in a variety of indoor and outdoor lighting applications. Its tiny, slim, and lightweight design allows for easy installation and integration into new or existing fixtures.

"We understand the challenges facing the lighting industry and are dedicated to providing solutions that not only meet the needs of our customers but also reflect our commitment to sustainability and innovation," said Alvaro Garcia, VP of Engineering at Fulham. "Our latest LED driver lineup is a perfect example of this commitment."

The launch of these new LED driver platforms comes at a critical time for the lighting industry, with the recent closure of Universal Douglas causing disruption in the supply chain and leaving many customers in need of alternative solutions. Fulham's latest LED drivers are a significant development in the lighting industry, offering a high-performance solution that also reflects the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation.
