Espen Technology Introduces RF Remote-Controlled, Color-Tuning TLEDs

Santa Fe Springs, CA  |  Today, Espen Technology announced the launch of its versaDim RF color-tuning TLEDs, which are wirelessly-controlled, linear LED lamps, using a simple handheld radio frequency remote control. It is as simple to use as a ceiling fan handheld remote, and can be used to dim the lights, change CCT, or turn the lights on and off. Espen’s first stock will be 4’, 12W, Type B, double-ended input, LED tubes, expected in stock by December 1, 2022. 

If a user holds the color changing button down on the remote, the color temperature of the lamp changes gradually and continuously between 2700K and 5000K CCT. If the user does quick clicks on the color changing button, the color temperature jumps between 5-step changes: 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K CCTs.

The simplicity of the versaDim RF lamps and remote results in many benefits:

• simple, push-button pairing of the remote to the lamp

• avoids the costly commissioning of most wireless systems

• no hassle dimming and color-tuning

• wall-mounted charger for the remote

• avoids downloading and learning mobile apps.

A new Gen 2 signal repeating function dramatically extends the range of the remote control, previously limited to 30-50 feet in the original products (depending on room configuration). Now, the first lamp to receive the remote signal repeats the signal to lamps farther away, in a manner that can extend the control range indefinitely in theory, however, very long distances would reveal some latency, the delay between the first and last lamp signaled. The new Gen 2 signal repeating feature is ideal for remote control of large rooms and hallways. 

According to Flemming Jensen, SVP of Sales & Marketing at Espen Technologies, “The 4’ color-tuning versaDim lamp will be the first in stock, but we plan to eventually offer 2’ and 3’ versions of the lamps, as well.” Jensen added, “Next year, we also plan to roll out a motion-sensor version of the wall-hung, handheld remote.
