Magnitude Lighting Launches Magnitude Otter™ Landscape Transformer 150W and 300W  

The high-performance landscape transformer series includes timesaving, contractor-centric features and a life-time warranty.

Tustin, CA – Magnitude Lighting Inc., manufacturer of LED drivers and transformers, announces a new product designed specifically for landscape contractors, electricians and landscape architects. The Magnitude Otter™ Landscape Transformer Series includes 150W and 300W units and is designed with unique contractor-pleasing features that will speed up installation and eliminate profit-draining call backs.

The Magnitude Otter™, according to the company, is the result of several years of research and polling in order to design an outdoor transformer that exceeds the expectations of contractors and customers. The new landscape transformer includes a lifetime warranty and features not found on any outdoor transformer in the market.  “Magnitude already has a well-established reputation for building the most reliable LED drivers out there,” comments Walter Simson, Magnitude Lighting’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our engineers and product managers used their knowledge and experience in driving LED lights and designed a transformer that we believe will be disruptive to this market.”

Simson is referring to features such as the IP65 enclosure made of 20-gauge stainless-steel with seams that are both welded and riveted. The new transformer accommodates Bluetooth and Wi-Fi plug-ins and includes replaceable rubber knockouts and a quick removable door. “When we talked to landscape contractors, we found that one of the most common frustrations they had was having to hammer out the perforated knocks because the sharp edges cut into wiring,” notes Simson.

To gain the IP65 rating, the Magnitude Otter™ underwent rigorous testing to verify that it is watertight, dustproof and pest proof.  Other contractor-centric features include large wire connection lugs that are tilted for easy access and captive screws that won’t come out and get lost in the landscape. The Magnitude Otter™ is a turnkey transformer with optional integrated surge protector and light sensor for dusk to dawn operation.

The Magnitude Otter™ Landscape Transformer is sold through the company’s network of lighting agencies and distributors and includes an unprecedented lifetime warranty.  “When you know that you have a product that is tougher and more reliable than any other transformer, adding a lifetime warranty was an easy decision,” concludes Simson.
