Schréder Appoints Austin Ashe as President of Ligman Lighting USA
Former GE Lighting executive takes the helm following Neil Gillies’ retirement
Schréder, a Belgium-based maker of outdoor lighting products, has appointed Austin Ashe as the new President of Ligman Lighting USA. Ashe brings over 15 years of experience in the construction and lighting sectors, specializing in hardware and IoT product development, sales, and mergers & acquisitions.
This leadership change follows Schréder’s June 2024 acquisition of Ligman Lighting USA. At the time, it was announced that Neil Gillies, the former leader of Ligman Lighting USA, would be retiring. “Schréder’s decision to invest in Ligman Lighting USA coincided with Neil Gillies' decision to retire,” the company stated.
Ashe most recently served as Senior Director of Business Operations at Hyundai, where he worked on the Supernal flying taxi venture. Prior to that, he led the Industrial AI Solutions division at Amazon Web Services. Ashe also held leadership roles at GE Lighting, focusing on luminaire sales, LED systems, and smart city solutions.
In his new role, Ashe will lead strategy and product development at Ligman Lighting USA. Steve Mills, Schréder’s President and Regional Director for North America, emphasized Ashe’s qualifications: “Austin’s extensive experience in lighting and technology makes him the ideal leader to take Ligman Lighting USA into its next chapter.”
