QUÉBEC – Specifiers, distributors, contractors and other lighting people in the Canadian province of Québec may need to get out their scorecards to keep track of the recent manufacturer-agent realignment that is taking place. Cooper Lighting Solutions

Cooper Lighting Solutions has recently changed agents, now partnering with Éclairage HITECH. Previously, Cooper Lighting was represented by Solutions BFC in Montreal and Éclairage Optimum in Québec City.

Market feedback tells us that the change took effect on August 7. Notably, Éclairage HITECH still lists Encelium and Wattstopper as manufacturer partners. Should this partnership continue, Éclairage HITECH will be one of only several agents in North America representing both Cooper Lighting and Legrand's Wattstopper and Encelium lines.

Cree Lighting

Following Cooper Lighting Solutions' new partnership with Éclairage HITECH, Cree Lighting Canada is now in search of a new partner. The company is expected to announce its partnership with new Québec agent(s) in the coming week or two.

Current HLI brands

Current GLI brands, formerly known as GE Current, have long been represented in Québec by Contact Delage. Recently, Current HLI brands (formerly known as Hubbell Lighting) selected Contact Delage to represent its HLI brand portfolios as the agent for the entire Province of Québec. Current HLI brands were previously represented by Delux.

In a statement, Current's VP of Sales in Canada, Nabil Salem, expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership: “We are looking forward to partnering with Contact Delage and are eager to collaborate closely. They are a well-respected agency with strong roots and expertise. I am confident we will be able to bring best-in-class service to our mutual customers in the region.”

Contact Delage General Manager Patrick Deschamps also shared excitement for the future, saying, “Contact Delage is poised to reach new heights with the Current partnership, and we are extremely excited about the endless possibilities it brings.”

Current's Roadway lighting products are also represented by Contact Delage.
