Lighting Design Firms Announce Growth, Expansion

Monday was a busy day for announcements from U.S. lighting design firms as three big-city, award winning architectural lighting design firms indepentently announced positive changes to their respective businesses. 

  • The Lighting Practice has a new Dallas office that will be led by Principal Jared Widmer.

  • Hartranft Lighting Design promotes Paula Ziegenbein to Principal.

  • AKLD hires accomplished lighting professional, Ann Reo.

The Lighting Practice Opens Dallas Office

Philadelphia, PA – The Lighting Practice, a leading national lighting consultant, has opened a new office in Dallas, TX. Led by Principal Jered Widmer, IALD, MIES, the firm’s third location will accommodate its rapid growth and serve as a home base for local and national projects.


The Dallas market, and Texas as a whole, is not uncharted territory for The Lighting Practice. The firm has been part of Texas design teams working on impactful projects for years, including Liberty Mutual Headquarters, ICR Discovery Center, Austin Ridge Bible Church, Le Meridien Houston, Blue Flame El Paso, UTSW William P. Clemente Jr. University Hospital, Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, Highland Park Village, and the Bexar County Courthouse.

The Lighting Practice, a woman-owned business, has offices in Philadelphia, New York and Dallas.

 

Hartranft Lighting Design Expands Firm Leadership

Boston, MA – Paula Ziegenbein has been named a Principal of Hartranft Lighting Design

Since joining Hartranft Lighting Design in 2014, Paula has steadily increased the firm’s Boston office presence, by developing new business and assuming management responsibilities for key projects and clients. Prior to joining the firm, she served in several product management and business development roles during a career spanning over 25 years with global lighting leader, OSRAM.

Hartranft Lighting Design is a woman-owned business (WBE) with offices in Charlotte, Boston and Washington, DC.


Ann Reo Joins AKLD Lighting Design as Senior Associate of Design & Business Development

Chicago, IL – AKLD Lighting Design has announced the appointment of Ann Reo as their new Senior Associate of Design & Business Development. Working as part of the design team from schematic through owner occupation Reo will lead projects as a Senior Lighting Designer. Her experience includes corporate office, museums, retail, convention centers, and exterior lighting for public parks & building façades.

“We are excited to have Ann join the AKLD team and further bolster our phenomenal portfolio of award winning commercial, hospitality and residential projects,” said Anne Kustner Haser, President and Design Principal. “We believe in Ann’s design philosophy and know that she will continue to grow our business.”

In addition to design, Reo will also lead business development and marketing for AKLD. Reo has an undergraduate degree in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
