Light + Building 2024 is setting out to attract attendees from March 3 to 8, 2024, in Frankfurt, Germany. This global event, the largest trade show and conference in the lighting industry, is preparing for its second post-COVID iteration after the 2020 event was canceled and the March 2022 event was postponed to September 2022 due to the pandemic.

The show organizers, Messe Frankfurt, are fostering a positive outlook towards Light + Building 2024, stating that "approximately 2,000 exhibitors have already expressed their intent to participate." Our interpretation of Messe Frankfurt’s statement is that over 1,900 exhibitors have either contractually agreed to exhibit, signed a letter of intent, or verbally expressed their intent to exhibit. With over nine months left before the doors open, the show appears to be trending positively, especially considering that the Autumn Edition of Light + Building in 2022 attracted 1,531 exhibitors. In 2018, the event drew 2,714 exhibitors.

Johannes Möller, the Director of Light + Building, conveyed his enthusiasm, stating, "The registration figures are promising! Ten months ahead of the fair, we have received strong commitments from both renowned German and international manufacturers. After the successful special edition of Light + Building in the autumn, we are now keen to return to the scale and prominence of the world's leading trade fair for lighting and building-services technology."

Möller did not mention the names of the renowned manufacturers, and the Light + Building website has yet to list the 2024 exhibitors. Notably, several large European "regulars" missed the 2022 Autumn Edition, including Signify, Zumtobel, iGuzzini, Louis Poulsen, We-ef, LED Linear, XAL, FLOS, Osram, and Reggiani. Many of these exhibitors had occupied hundreds of square meters of exhibit space in previous exhibitions.

Light + Building 2024 promises to offer attendees a unique live experience, providing them the opportunity to interact with industry innovations firsthand. Besides the exhibition, visitors can participate in lectures, guided tours, and facilitated discussions on various topics, including the synergy between light and architecture, home connectivity, electromobility, and connected security in buildings.
