Deltalight, a leading Belgian manufacturer of high-end architectural lighting, is expanding its international specification team. We are seeking a Specification Salesperson based in New York City, dedicated exclusively to projects specified in the United States and built abroad. This role will focus on international hospitality, commercial, and high-end residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects, lighting designers, and interior designers, primarily in New York City.
  • Drive Deltalight specifications for international projects executed abroad.
  • Promote design-driven and technically advanced lighting solutions.
  • Act as a key link between local specifiers and international teams to support global project execution.
  • Lead the specification of Deltalight products across high-end commercial, hospitality, and residential projects worldwide.
  • Provide expert guidance on lighting design, product selection, and technical integration to enhance project outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment on client needs and project goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities and maintain Deltalight’s market leadership.
  • Support project teams throughout the design and execution phases, ensuring product specifications meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, and product demonstrations to educate and inspire design professionals.

 

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in specification sales, preferably within architectural lighting, design, or premium building materials
  • Established network within the NYC Architecture & Design (A&D) community
  • Strong commercial acumen paired with a genuine passion for design and architecture
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable operating in an international, design-driven environment
  • Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and relationship-oriented professional

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a specification sales or prospecting role
  • At least 5 years of experience in the lighting industry, with deep understanding of design and technical applications
  • Strong technical and commercial insight, with expertise in specification sales, lighting solutions, and CRM systems
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional negotiation, organizational, and project management skills



Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
