Degreed Engineer – Lighting Industry

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Degreed Engineer to join our team in the lighting industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, product development, and manufacturing processes related to commercial, industrial, or architectural lighting solutions. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to design, test, and implement innovative lighting products that meet industry standards and meet customer expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and test lighting products and systems to ensure performance, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., UL, CSA, DLC, ANSI, NEC).
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, sales, and marketing, to develop new lighting solutions and improve existing products.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide engineering analysis for new product development.
  • Assist in the selection of materials, components, and manufacturing processes to optimize cost and performance.
  • Create technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and test reports.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by identifying and resolving product defects and process inefficiencies.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in the lighting industry.
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding product functionality and application.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product design and development within the lighting industry (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of LED technology, optical systems, power electronics, and thermal management.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for product design and modeling.
  • Experience with photometric testing, lighting controls, and energy efficiency standards is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die-casting, and sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
