Position Overview
We are seeking a Lighting Specifications Sales Representative to drive sales growth and expand ALTO’s presence in the New York market and other major cities. This role is about influence, relationships, and belief in our mission—we need someone who can connect with top architects, designers, and developers to get ALTO specified in high-end residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural lighting sales, a passion for health and wellness-focused design, and the ability to educate and inspire decision-makers about the importance of human centric lighting.
This is a sales-driven role, but beyond selling, we need someone who believes in what we are doing and wants to help us make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow sales by securing ALTO’s specification in high-end architectural projects.
- Manage and train independent lighting reps, ensuring strong brand representation.
- Educate industry professionals on ALTO’s non-glare LED technology and its wellness benefits.
- Build long-term relationships with top architects, designers, and real estate developers.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with agency sales teams, conducting joint sales calls and training sessions.
Who You Are
- Proven Sales Leader – Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in architectural lighting and high-end design products.
- Passionate About Wellness & Design – You believe lighting should do more than illuminate—it should enhance human health and experience.
- Relationship-Driven – You have established connections with architects, designers, and developers.
- Skilled Communicator & Educator – You can persuade, present, and inspire.
- Self-Motivated & Results-Oriented – You take ownership of your success and drive sales growth.
- Technologically Savvy – You have a strong understanding of lighting technologies and design principles.
- Major Market Experience - Familiarity with the New York lighting market and other major markets.
