The Regional Sales Manager will promote the Lighting Services Inc brand and meet annual revenue goals by managing a team of independent sales representatives in close collaboration with the Inside Sales, Technical Services departments and the Executive Team. In order to drive sales within the territory, the Regional Sales Manager will divide their time between revenue generation and team management. The Regional Sales Manager will work with lighting designers, architects, engineers, electrical distributors, sales reps, and end users to provide customer and product support. The RSM will have extensive knowledge of color, vision and lighting fundamentals and standards. The position is remote and includes 70% travel.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies to manage and maintain sales pipelines.
  • Find and develop new markets as well as non-traditional channels.
  • Maintain effective budgetary controls of all sales expenses
  • Represent company at industry associations, trade shows, regional and local events.
  • Guide teams to provide high level of service and to manage territories in an organized and efficient manner to increase profitability and sales.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects at any given time; manage annual sales goals by representative.
  • Provide support to end-users.
  • Maintain open communications with a varied audience – both internally and externally.
  • Provide feedback to marketing on competitive products, price changes, new products, and product improvements.
  • Communicate best practices and personal/professional development opportunities for team
  • Be the expert for all application and operational aspects of the complement of products, including architecture, human visual system, and design concepts.
  • Passionate about winning and presenting new and existing suite of products to customers and team members.

 

Role Qualifications:
  • Prefer 3+ years of experience in a similar role in relevant lighting industry experience with a proven track record of successfully achieving sales targets. Degree preferred but equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Other specification-grade architectural product category experience in an electrical – controls – drivers orientated industry will be considered but a demonstrated understanding of lighting technology and the market is highly desirable.
  • Experience and successful track record of working with lighting designers, architects, engineers and distributor partners.
  • Proven record of accomplishment as a top performer while selling in a competitive sales atmosphere.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
  • Energetic, effective self-starter who is able to excel in a sales environment including ability to communicate effectively to the intended audience.
  • Advanced ability to grow strong relationships and be an influencer with a varied audience.
  • This position requires 70% of travel within the assigned territory including several facility visits to the factory in scenic New York.
  • Strong MS Office skills, specifically Word, ExcelPowerPointand Outlook.

 

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
