East Coast Regional Sales Manager: Eastern and Southern United States


Position Description

The Regional Sales Manager’s main function within the organization is to drive sales within their assigned region. The Regional Sales Manager is also responsible for making sure client and customer needs are being met and understood by each department in the company, while educating and building relationships with customers by delivering top-notch service.

 

Responsibilities

Agency Management

  • Manage the sales relationship with all manufacturer sales rep agencies within the assigned region alongside the Business Development Manager.

  • Coordinate all activities related to the sales of products and services to wholesale channel customers

  • Work with each rep agency to consistently schedule local distributor/showroom visits.

  • Work with the Business Development Manager to coordinate local and national educational/product training events such as webinars, trade shows, and lunch ‘n’ learns.

  • Partner with the Business Development Manager to create sales strategies for each agency within the assigned region.

  • Assist in development of annual territory sales targets and expense budgets

  • Work with Product Management to assist in identification of customer requirements and related product specifications

  • Assist in data gathering and review for competitive analysis of product lines

  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure all clients are responded to/followed up with in an appropriate time window

 

Sales and Customer Service

  • Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales and activity quotas

  • Answer all calls and emails with top-notch customer service that educates, instills confidence and adds reassurance.

  • Develop projects with attention to detail and a focus on relationship building.

  • Offer expertise in developing projects to create accurate quotes as needed to place orders.

  • Manage difficult customers tactfully, courteously and professionally.

  • Solve problems and answer questions in a way that makes the customer feel valued and important.

  • Ask constant questions that can allow you to spot a sale opportunity.

  • Maximize sales performance through strong relationships with clients and awareness of their needs.

 

Outreach

  • Work closely with direct customers, end users and decision influencers to promote the sales of company products and services

  • Reaching out to potential and former customers via phone calls, emails, messaging, and social media to engage them with the organization.

  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks

  • Generate leads by committing to customer service and building relationships.

  • Make cold calls or perform warm outreach, using outside-the-box thinking to develop new and unique sales tactics.

 

Salary range

  • $60,000 - 70,000 base + commission

 

Qualifications
  • 10+ years customer service experience and sales knowledge or 5+ years experience in lighting sales at a regional level or higher

  • 2 year college degree or higher

  • Proficient level of English language, both written and spoken

  • Emotional Intelligence and ability to diffuse tense situations

  • Detail oriented and customer service driven

  • Relationship building skills

  • Creative problem solving capabilities

  • Incredible work ethic

  • Positive attitude

  • Professionalism

 

Reporting
  • This position reports to the Director of Integration
