Outside Sales - Lighting: Albany, NY
Vertex Innovative Solutions, Inc. is an independent manufacturer’s representative serving Upstate New York, and we are seeking a new hire for Outside Sales focused on our Lighting product offerings. Full-time, exempt, salaried position, based in our Albany, NY office and serving customers in our greater-Albany territory. Ideally seeking an established sales professional with working knowledge of the commercial lighting and electrical construction industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain strong customer/agency/manufacturer relationships

Understand the construction/bid/procurement process

Strategize and negotiate project sales

Present new product offerings to customers

Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts

Coordinate the sales effort with inside and specification sales staff

Moderate in-territory travel and occasional out-of-state travel

Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in related field
and
- 5+ years of rep agency or electrical distribution sales
or
- An equivalent combination of 8-10 years of education and experience
Compensation & Benefits:
Vertex provides a robust compensation package. Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Generous performance-based commission bonus structure.
