About this Team

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Sales Manager with a proven track record in growing specification sales in the commercial construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who is looking to advance their career by joining a dynamic and industry leading organization. 
  
 Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for promoting products affiliated with Alight and ensuring the achievement of sales goals, and other company objectives within a defined geographical territory. 
  
 The Sales Manager will ensure Acuity Brands architectural products and solutions are specified and sold within the Western Region territory, as well as be responsible for significantly increasing agency business within the specification community. This position requires the Sales Manager to reside in a major market within the territory and be willing to spend 40 - 50%* of his/her time in the field 
 

How you will contribute:

Role & Responsibilities: 

  • Train agency personnel on our products & related technologies to stimulate sales growth. 
  • Participates with agency personnel in joint sales calls to specifiers, including architects, lighting designers, and engineers to build a strong sales funnel.
  • Engage with customer service partners to provide best in class service to our customer base (agents, architects, lighting designers, engineers, and end users.) 
  • Promote products at trade shows and other industry-related meetings to increase our brand recognition. 
  • Build and manage territory opportunity funnel via Sales Force on a weekly basis. 
  • Effectively plan and execute on action plans to meet company objectives. 
      

Qualified Applicants will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of proven successful sales experience in the construction industry
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Vehicle large enough to transport sales samples to meetings and sales calls
  • Must live in or near a major city within the territory.
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Skilled in written communications
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Results oriented
  • Must be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
