Edison Opto USA Corporation
Regional Sales Manager
New England Territory | Remote / Field-Based
Posted 5 days ago
Edison Opto USA Corporation is looking for an experienced, well-connected sales professional to help expand our LED component and L2 module business across the New England market.
This is an opportunity for someone who knows the lighting industry, understands OEM selling, and wants the autonomy to build a territory—not simply inherit and maintain an existing account list.
You will work directly with lighting manufacturers, OEM engineering teams, product developers, sourcing organizations, and purchasing professionals to identify new applications, develop custom solutions, and convert technical opportunities into long-term production business.
With direct access to Edison Opto’s engineering and manufacturing resources, you will have the ability to bring customers more than an off-the-shelf product. Our strength is supporting customers from LED component selection and module design through sampling, qualification, and mass production.
What You’ll Sell:
Our product portfolio includes:
- L2 LED modules and light engines
- Custom PCB LED modules
- Linear, circular, AC/DC, and specialty modules
- COB LEDs
- PLCC, EMC, Ceramic, and other LED components
- Custom LED assemblies and OEM lighting solutions
The focus is on technical, engineering-driven OEM opportunities, including both standard products and custom or semi-custom programs.
What You’ll Do:
You will take ownership of business development throughout the New England territory and build a sustainable pipeline of OEM opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute a territory growth strategy for New England.
- Identify and open new OEM accounts and applications.
- Build relationships with engineering, R&D, product management, sourcing, purchasing, and executive teams.
- Generate qualified RFQs, sample requests, design-in opportunities, and new production programs.
- Work directly with customer engineering teams to understand technical and application requirements.
- Collaborate with Edison Opto engineering, product, quality, and manufacturing teams to develop the right solution.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle: Prospecting → Technical Discussion → RFQ → Quotation → Sample → Qualification → Production
- Expand business within strategic accounts by identifying additional programs and applications.
- Maintain a disciplined CRM pipeline, forecast, project status, annual volume, and next actions.
- Provide market intelligence on customers, competitors, pricing, applications, and technology trends.
- Represent Edison Opto at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for someone who can bring more than sales activity—we want someone who can create real OEM opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of technical B2B sales or business-development experience within LED lighting, LED components, semiconductor, electronics, modules, or a related industry.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience selling directly to OEM customers.
- Demonstrated success opening new accounts and developing new business.
- Experience working with engineering, sourcing, purchasing, and product-development organizations.
- Strong understanding of OEM qualification, design-in, and production sales cycles.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, field-based environment.
Especially Valuable:
We are particularly interested in candidates who already have:
- Established relationships with lighting OEMs, fixture manufacturers, and product-development organizations in the New England territory.
- Experience selling LED components, COBs, L2 modules, light engines, PCB assemblies, drivers, or other engineered lighting products.
- Experience supporting custom or semi-custom product-development programs.
- A strong professional network within the North American lighting industry.
The Right Person for This Role:
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Already know the lighting OEM landscape in the Northeast.
- Enjoy developing new business rather than only servicing existing accounts.
- Can move comfortably between commercial and technical conversations.
- Know how to identify a real project versus an early-stage lead.
- Can engage engineers early in the design cycle and stay involved through qualification and production.
- Are disciplined about follow-up, opportunity management, and forecasting.
- Think in terms of long-term customer development and recurring production revenue.
We are less focused on the number of sales calls you make and more focused on the quality of the opportunities you create and your ability to move them toward production.
