Overview:

The Director of Marketing – Delta Light Group North America is responsible for leading the North American marketing function for all brands (Deltalight, LF Illumination, Delray, and VLT), including brand strategy, large-scale marketing initiatives, budget ownership, team leadership, and cross-functional execution. This role aligns marketing strategy with business goals while ensuring strong collaboration between product development, sales, executive leadership, and the team in Belgium. The Director of Marketing translates global brand direction into North American strategy and execution, with accountability for digital marketing, trade shows/events, product marketing, training, sales enablement, and regional market support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership

  • Owns and leads the North American marketing strategy for all brands, ensuring alignment with the company objectives, commercial priorities, and leadership-level business strategy.
  • Serves as a strategic marketing partner to executive leadership, sales leadership, and product development, providing recommendations that support growth, positioning, and brand consistency.
  • Develops and implements strategic marketing plans that align with brand and company objectives.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, finance and product development, to ensure cohesive execution of brand initiatives.

 

Large Projects & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Leads large-scale marketing projects from strategy through execution, including product launches, literature updates, trade show programs, brand campaigns, website initiatives, regional activations, and customer-facing marketing rollouts.
  • Sets project scope, timelines, milestones, stakeholder responsibilities, communication cadence, and success measures for major initiatives.
  • Coordinates across internal teams, outside partners, agencies, designers, developers, resources, sales, and product stakeholders to ensure projects are completed with quality, consistency, and accountability.
  • Creates structure around complex initiatives by clarifying priorities, removing obstacles, and ensuring strong follow-through across teams.

 

Budget Ownership

  • Owns marketing budget planning, tracking, prioritization, and reporting for all North American brands.
  • Allocates budget across strategic initiatives, digital marketing, collateral, trade shows, events, agency support, training, product launch needs, and regional sales support.
  • Evaluates spend against business priorities, project requirements, campaign impact, and ROI expectations.
  • Partners with leadership to forecast marketing needs, justify investment, and manage resources responsibly.

 

Digital Marketing

  • Oversees all digital marketing efforts, including website management, email campaigns, CRM, and social media presence for all brands.
  • Partners with internal and external content creators, designers, and developers to ensure brand consistency and user engagement as needed.
  • Uses digital performance data, customer engagement metrics, and sales feedback to improve campaign strategy and communication effectiveness.

 

Trade Shows & Events

  • Works with sales and the Event and Social Coordinator to ensure the brand’s presence at trade shows, industry events, and regional activations aligns with brand standards.
  • Leads strategic planning for Delta Light Group North America’s presence at trade shows, industry events, showroom activations, regional programs, and customer-facing experiences.
  • Provides on-site support as needed.

 

Product Expertise & Training

  • Develops and maintains sales presentations, onboarding materials, and product collateral to simplify and strengthen product specification.
  • Serves as a key liaison to product management and technical marketing teams to ensure North American market needs are addressed in launches and updates.

 

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Manages, coaches, and develops marketing team members by providing clear priorities, expectations, feedback, and support.
  • Leads team planning and workload management to ensure resources are aligned to the highest-impact initiatives.
  • Builds team capability through mentoring, coaching, process improvement, skill development, and cross-functional exposure.
  • Provides leadership, mentorship, and direction to marketing staff and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensures all initiatives are executed with attention to quality, efficiency, and brand integrity.
  • Gathers and communicates market feedback and performance insights to support product and marketing improvements.

 

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within the architectural lighting, design, interiors, architecture, manufacturing, luxury products, or related AEC/specification-driven industry.
  • Experience owning marketing strategy, budget planning, large projects, people leadership, and cross-functional execution.
  • Experience working collaboratively with sales, product, executive leadership teams, and global HQ stakeholders.
  • Experience working with international teams or HQ-level marketing/product stakeholders strongly preferred.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership-level strategic marketing skills with the ability to connect brand, product, sales, customer, and business priorities.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, including Google Analytics, social media tools, CMS, CRM, and project management software (e.g., Monday.com).
  • Strong budget management, project management, stakeholder management, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage, coach, and develop team members while maintaining accountability for execution quality and deadlines.
  • Comfortable representing the brand in customer-facing situations, executive conversations, partner meetings, and industry events.

 

Travel Requirement:

Up to 10% travel required for trade shows, industry events, regional sales support, training sessions, client visits in key markets, and collaboration with HQ as needed.

Salary Range$140,000–$160,000
