V3 Lighting is a mid-sized, specification-focused manufacturers’ representative agency based in North Carolina. Our curated line card features respected brands such as Luminii, Lightheaded, Extant, Beta Calco, Flos, Steinel, and many others. We focus on privately owned, high-quality manufacturers and do not represent conglomerate brands.
If you are a lighting professional who consistently delivers but is not retaining a meaningful share of commissions, this role could be an excellent fit. Our compensation plan rewards strong performance, with a significant portion of specification-generated commissions paid to the salesperson.
As our Specification Sales Representative, you will represent V3 to leading specifiers in the Charlotte market, many of whom already know V3 and our manufacturers. You will receive an existing account list, so cold calling will be limited, and inside support will be available for technical questions, photometrics, and pricing.
What You’ll Do
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with architects, interior designers, landscape architects and lighting designers in Western North Carolina market (Charlotte, Asheville)
- Present V3 products, solutions, and services clearly and professionally
- Build spec packages including highlighted spec sheets, photometric studies, mock up samples, etc.
- Occasional ride along sales visits with RSMs. Set up 4–5 calls per day.
- Attend and represent V3 at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and regional networking opportunities.
- Monitor competitive products, industry trends, customer needs, and market conditions.
- Manage multiple priorities, projects, customer needs, and territory responsibilities with a high degree of independence.
- Maintain timely and accurate updates, including call reports, expense reports, pipeline activity, CRM updates, and assigned projects.
- Reside in the Charlotte region.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lighting sales, preferably within architectural or specification lighting
- Strong understanding of the architectural lighting industry
- Established relationships with architects, interior designers, engineers
- Knowledge of LED technology, lighting products, and customer applications
- Proven ability to grow sales through existing relationships and new business development
- Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects, customers, and priorities at the same time
- Professional, responsible, service-oriented, and customer-focused approach
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AGI32
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned sales territory
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, lighting, or a related field preferred
