Extant Lighting is an innovative architectural lighting manufacturer proudly designing and manufacturing in Huntington Beach, California. We are known for delivering high performance, innovative architectural lighting fixtures with exceptional visual comfort, modern aesthetics, and industry leading customer support.

As we continue our sales growth and launch multiple new product families, we are seeking a driven and experienced Western US Sales Manager to lead and grow our presence throughout the Western United States.

 

Position Summary

The Western US Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing independent manufacturers' representative agencies, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding Extant Lighting’s specification presence throughout the Western region.

This individual will work closely with ownership and executive leadership to execute sales strategies, support rep agencies, increase specification activity, and continue positioning Extant Lighting as a premier architectural lighting manufacturer.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for outside sales, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where motivation and proactive management are essential. As a vital part of our team, you will champion innovative sales strategies, foster customer relationships, and help drive outstanding results throughout the region.

 

Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow sales throughout the Western United States
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with independent manufacturers' representative agencies
  • Drive specification sales through architects, lighting designers, engineers, contractors, and end users
  • Conduct regular rep trainings, market visits, and customer presentations
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic accounts
  • Collaborate with internal teams including quotations, customer service, engineering, and operations
  • Assist with territory planning, forecasting, and sales strategy execution
  • Represent Extant Lighting at industry events, trade shows, and customer functions
  • Maintain strong knowledge of architectural lighting trends, lighting solutions, and competitive products
  • Support new product launches and regional go-to-market initiatives

 

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in architectural lighting, lighting controls, or commercial lighting sales
  • Existing relationships within the lighting specification community strongly preferred
  • Experience managing independent representative agencies preferred
  • Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Western United States
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools

 

Preferred Experience
  • Architectural lighting manufacturer experience
  • Established network within the Western United States lighting market
  • Experience with specification sales and project management
  • Experience with outside sales and travel
  • Extensive knowledge of architectural lighting products and applications
