The A&D Specification Sales Manager, reporting to the National BDM, is responsible for executing sales plans and initiatives to achieve assigned goals. This role focuses on proactive market prospecting through outbound calls and emails to generate opportunities, while building and maintaining strong relationships with specifiers and partners to secure projects and drive sales. The Sales Manager should be committed to exceeding customer expectations and delivering a high level of satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow territory verticals, achieve sales goals, and maximize revenue potential.
  • Actively prospect the market through outbound calls, emails, and networking to generate opportunities and build new relationships. Also includes
  • Expand and grow selected vertical markets, ensuring maximum market share and penetration.
  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with customers, specifiers, distributors, and partners.
  • Oversee projects end-to-end—from design and specification through procurement, delivery, and installation—ensuring proactive follow-up, opportunity closure, and high customer satisfaction.
  • Strategize pricing, discounting, and project distribution to optimize business outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, sales pipeline, forecasts, budgets, reports, and awareness tables to ensure data integrity and support management decision-making.
  • Provide training, product updates, and support to customers and partners to ensure they are well-informed about offerings.
  • Participate in the design phase with clients to influence specifications and facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Execute sales calls, presentations, events, and business social activities to promote products and strengthen relationships.
  • Take full responsibility for the business generated, ensuring action plans are executed effectively and sales goals are consistently met.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Deliver a “hands-on” approach in all project phases to prevent issues, reduce claims, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of experience in a specification sales prospecting role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the lighting industry
  • Technical and commercial insight. Knowledge of specification sales, lighting industry, CRM
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong negotiation and organizational skills, project management
