Position Summary
The Vice President, National Sales Manager – Roadway & Transportation Division, is responsible for leading all sales activities across North America for this newly established division. This executive will develop and execute a comprehensive sales and go-to-market strategy, drive revenue growth, and oversee the day-to-day commercial operations of the division.
This role requires a highly entrepreneurial leader who thrives in an autonomous environment, excels at building and scaling relationships, and has a proven track record of success within the Roadway, DOT, and Utility markets.
Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the North American Roadway & Transportation Division, ensuring achievement of revenue and growth objectives
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and operational sales processes
- Foster a culture of collaboration, customer focus, and results-driven execution
- Leverage prior industry relationships and market credibility to accelerate growth within the Roadway/DOT/Utility sectors
Customer-Facing Influence & Channel Leadership
- Serve as the primary external representative of Brandon Industries to key customers, agents, distributors, contractors, and end-users
- Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with stakeholders, including DOTs, municipalities, utilities, specifiers, and agency partners
- Lead high-level customer engagements, state-level account discussions, and strategic presentations
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and national forums to strengthen brand visibility and credibility
- Partner with independent sales representatives and distributors to enhance effectiveness, provide training, and ensure consistent messaging
- Drive engagement across all sales channels, aligning execution with corporate strategy and product initiatives
National Sales Strategy & Execution
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute national sales strategies aligned with company goals and revenue targets
- Define and implement go-to-market strategies across multiple channels
- Drive market penetration, new product introductions, and expansion initiatives
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and performance metrics to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
- Lead the full sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through closing and account management
- Develop new business opportunities while expanding and strengthening existing key accounts
- Establish, grow, and optimize a Roadway/DOT/Utility agency network, including onboarding new agents where territorial gaps exist
- Deliver accurate monthly reporting and quarterly sales forecasts
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with senior leadership on pricing strategy, channel development, and market positioning
- Provide actionable market insights to inform product development, marketing strategy, and operational priorities
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing team, including external digital partners, to support campaigns, events, and lead generation efforts
- Coordinate follow-up and execution of trade shows, exhibitions, and customer engagement initiatives
- Identify hiring needs and build a high-performing sales organization as the division scales
- Support recruitment, training, and development of both internal sales staff and external partners
- Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment and execution across departments
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within the outdoor/exterior lighting industry, with a strong focus on roadway, DOT, and/or utility markets
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and strategic account development
- Established industry relationships with agencies, municipalities, utilities, contractors, and specifiers
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to lead consultative, solution-based sales processes
- Proven ability to develop and execute national sales strategies and go-to-market plans
- Remote position with significant travel; as required by sales and client relationships.
- Preference will be given to candidates that live within 50 miles of a major US airport.
