Regional Sales Manager | East Coast Specification Sales

We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to drive specification sales growth across the East Coast of the United States. This is a senior-level role focused on strategy, market development, and relationship building within the architectural lighting specification market. The ideal candidate is currently succeeding as a manufacturer RSM, a top-performing agency sales professional, or a specification-focused sales leader ready to step into a broader, more influential role.
This is not a maintenance role — it is an opportunity to build, influence, and lead. The right candidate will bring deep market knowledge, strong agency relationships, and the drive to expand regional presence with architects, designers, and engineers across key East Coast markets. A strong understanding of both Indoor and Outdoor Architectural Lighting is a plus.
Primary Focus
The primary mission of this role is to build and grow specification-driven sales across the East Coast. Success depends on consistent engagement with the design community and strong support of our agency network.

Key Responsibilities
This role demands active involvement across the full sales cycle, from early design engagement to project close. The RSM will work independently and alongside agency partners to develop business and strengthen market position.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategy for East Coast specification markets
- Grow specification-driven business across target territories
- Build and maintain strong relationships with independent sales agencies
- Travel regularly throughout the region to support agency partners and key accounts
- Conduct independent and joint sales calls with Architects, Lighting Designers, Engineers, Distributors, Contractors, and End Users
- Promote brand awareness and product visibility within the specification community
- Support project development from early design through quotation and close
- Evaluate agency performance and provide coaching, training, and accountability
- Identify and help recruit new agency partners where needed
- Act as a key liaison between the field and factory
- Communicate market feedback, customer needs, service issues, and product concerns internally
- Participate in trade shows, product presentations, market events, and product launches
- Monitor territory trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and regional opportunities
Qualifications
We are looking for a seasoned sales professional with direct experience in lighting or specification sales. Strong communication, relationship-building, and regional travel availability are essential.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in lighting sales, specification sales, or architectural/design-related sales
- Strong understanding of the architectural lighting specification process
- Experience working with independent sales agencies
- Experience conducting joint calls with specifiers, contractors, distributors, and end users
- Proven ability to meet or exceed regional sales goals
- Experience training, motivating, and evaluating sales partners
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel approximately 50 to 75 percent throughout the East Coast

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a remote-based position requiring consistent regional travel across the East Coast. Candidates must be comfortable with both car and air travel and able to manage the physical demands of an active sales role.
